Day 01: Manali – Rohtang Pass – Koksar – Keylong – Jispa (5-6hrs drive approx)

Depart Manali early in the morning our first halt is Marhi A barren landscape offering extensive views of the valley and the mountains. We proceed to Rohtang Pass 3790 M is most popular with visitors, being one of the highest road point and gateway to LAHAUL and SPITI valleys. Pass remains closed during winter due to heavy snow from November end to May end. Visitors can drive upto MARHI below ROHTANG with similar high-altitude topography, forest of Birch, Fir and Spurce. Once we cross the Rohtang Pass border we are in the Barren Himalayas with the landscape completely changing Khoksar is the first village and gate way to Lahaul. Follow the Chandra River right bank to reach at the confluence of Chandra and Bhaga river and arrive at Keylong which is the district headquarter of this region. Further drive will take you Jispa which is an ideal place to stay at lower altitude and better acclimatization. Night stay in hotel at Jispa

 

Day 02: Jispa – Darcha – Sarchu- Leh

Get prepared for the most interesting overland high altitude drive up to Leh. May take approx 10 hours. You will arrive at Darcha ( 3500 Meter) is situated at the junction of Yotche Nullah and the Zanskar Chhu which takes off from the Shinkun la. Both these nullahs meet with the main river Bhaga at this place. This is the main point for the trek lovers wish to enter in Zanskar valley or up to Leh. Your drive from this place will take to Baralacha Pass ( 1620 Ft) and further drive to Sarchu which is nearly the midpoint of Manali Leh route. Continue drive to Pang and cross morai plains and arrive at Tanglang la Pass (5400 M) and enter in Leh Valley. Your further drive will take you to Upshaw by crossing river Indus and follow the highway up to Leh. Check in at your hotel and overnight stay at Leh City.

 

Day 03: Leh – Shey – Thiksey – Hemis

On this day you will go a sightseeing trip to some ancient monasteries in this area.

 Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are lots of Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey palace was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17’Th century AD. Main attraction in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue inside the Dresthang Gompa.

 Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 17 kms from Leh. The monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ladakh and belongs to the Gelukspa order.

 Hemis, about 45 kms south of Leh it is one of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. It belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17’Th century. The setting is perfect with the monastery cradled in a lovely valley, surrounded by streams and fronted by long Mani walls. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 04: Leh – Khardung la – Nubra Valley (120 Kms approx)

Today after breakfast drive about 04- 05 hrs. [125 kms] to Nubra – known as valley of flowers. After drive about 02 hrs. we will reach – The world’s highest motorable road called Khardungla high about 18,380 feet above sea level. From the top we can see the most beautiful view of Indus valley & its snow-covered peaks towering the sky and other side of the pass if weather remain clear we can see Karakorum Mountain range and peaks too. We descend down to beautiful valley & transfer to the hotel, later have rest till evening, before sunset we will take you for a short drive to Hunder sand dunes to visit & ride double humped Bactrian camel, later back to hotel for overnight stay. If time permits, we will have a village walk to see local people & its culture

 

Day 05: Nubra Valley – Turtuk – Nubra Valley

Today, you’ll travel to the highlight of your Ladakh tour package – Turtuk. Located on the India-Pakistan border, it is a small village on the banks of the Shyok River with unparalleled natural beauty.

The place is culturally, linguistically and historically different from what you’ve seen till now in your Ladakh Tour Package as it falls under the Gilgit-Baltistan region. Even the landscape is different with dramatic narrow valleys and steep mountains, unlike Central Ladakh and Nubra. Comparatively, situated at a lower altitude than Leh, you’ll see green pastures here that yield fresh produce like apricots and apples. Later back to Nubra Valley. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 06: Nubra Valley – Pangong Lake

In the morning after breakfast drive from Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shayok River. Shayok river originates from the Rimo Glacier and its water is so clear that it feels like a mirror. When the sun shines over the river it feels like a carpet of diamonds has been laid down over it. Hence, a visit to the river is something you should not miss out on. After this detour, reach your campsite in Pangong, get settled in and take some rest. In the evening you can spend your leisure time by the lake or exploring the surroundings. At night, have some dinner at the campsite and get ready for a night stay

 

Day 07: Pangong Lake – Leh

As usual, begin your day with breakfast. Today not at your hotel but at the campsite. Explore the Lake and later drive back to Leh via Chang La Pass. Once you reach your nearby Leh, visit Hemis. Shey, Thiksey Monastery, famous Rancho’s School. This is the same school that was a part of the climax of the movie 3 Idiots. The actual name of the place is Druk Padma Karpo School but is famous for the name 3 Idiots School. Post this fun-filled day, head back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

 

Day 08: Leh – Alchi – Lamayuru – Kargil

After a leisurely breakfast at the Leh hotel, the safari will take you towards Lamayuru. On the way, you will be visiting the flag-waving Hall of Fame Museum, pious Kali Mata Temples, the phenomenal Magnetic Hill, Sangam Point, Gurudwara Patha Sahib and the sacred Alchi Monastery, Old age Lamayuru Monastery, Moonland and further drive to Kargil and check in to hotel.. Overnight stay in Kargil.

 

Day 09: Kargil – Sonamarg – Srinagar

The day will begin with a delicious breakfast at the Kargil hotel. Post this, the jeep safari will advance towards Srinagar through the Kargil War Memorial, Drass and Zojila Pass. After crossing the enthralling Zoji La Pass at 11,500ft, the safari will halt in Sonamarg.

Discover the enchanting beauty of Sonamarg; also known as the ‘Meadow of Gold’, and you will be finally drive to the last leg of your Jeep Safari from Manali to Leh and Srinagar. Arriving in Srinagar, you will be checked-in into a hotel for your overnight stay.

 

Day 10: Departure from Srinagar; Tour Ends Here

Today morning, after your breakfast, you will be driven to the Srinagar airport according to your flight schedule.
