A Valley of Kashmir to Ladakh

Day 01: Arrival Srinagar – Shikara Ride

On your arrival at the Srinagar International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative who will assist and escort you to your waiting vehicle. From the airport it is a 35 minutes’ drive through the heart of New Srinagar city. The drive takes you past the Abdullah Bridge which connects the banks of the Jehlum River, snaking its way towards the North-Western frontier of Kashmir. We arrive at the houseboat and check in. Later we will go on a 02 hrs. Shikara ride in the lake. This boat ride glides you past some wonderful vegetable gardens and aquatic life. Dinner and Overnight in Houseboat.

Day 02: Srinagar – Pahalgam – Srinagar (95 kms/3 Hrs)

Today trip will be to a picturesque valley around 97 kilometers South of Kashmir. Known as Pahalgam (which means The Shepherds Village), the valley is renowned the world over for its exotic forests, pretty water streams and imposing snow peaks. In Pahalgam you can visit Betaab Valley and Chandanwari as well as take a horse-riding trip to Baisaran meadows. After sightseeing around the mountain valley for most of the day, we will drive back to Srinagar and transfer to the Houseboat for our overnight stay.

​​Day 03: Srinagar Local Sightseeing

After an early breakfast we take a morning tour of Shankaracharya Temple, It is believed that it was the place where the great philosopher and saint Shankaracharya stayed when he visited Kashmir ten centuries ago to revive Sanatan Dharma. The original ceiling was dome- shaped and the brick roof is not more than a century old. And later proceed further to Hazratbal Mosque, situated in a village on the western shores of the Dal Lake opposite Nishat Bagh, it is a pristine white marble edifice casting its reflection in the waters of the lake. Unlike the other mosques in Srinagar, which have a pagoda like roof, Hazratbal is the only mosque to have a domed roof mosque in Srinagar; the others having distinct pagoda like roofs Gardens & Jama Masjid, situated in the heart of the old city of Srinagar, this huge mosque is visited by thousands of people who congregate here for the Friday prayers. Later in the afternoon we take a sightseeing tour of Mughal Gardens starting our visit to Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love). We will explore the gardens and later drive back to the Houseboat for a Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 04: Srinagar – Gulmarg – Srinagar (60 kms/2:30 mints)

After breakfast in the morning, we will begin our country side day trip towards Gulmarg. The drive past colorful villages and rice fields, gives you an insight of the rich cultural past of Kashmir. We arrive at a small picturesque market town of Tangmarg and drive ahead on a scenic drive of 14 kilometers to Gulmarg. We arrive in Gulmarg early in the afternoon and begin a short tour around the meadow familiarizing ourselves with the beauty. In Gulmarg we will board the Gondola cable car system, and ascend towards the Apharwat Mountain range. The 08 minutes of rope-way will take you past colorful shepherd huntsmen to the lower ridge of the Apharwat peak. From here you can click lots of photos of the nearby mountain ranges that stand tall like sentinels guarding the rich natural beauty of Kashmir valley. We descend back to Gulmarg base after an hour or so and later do some horse-riding to the strawberry valley. In the evening we will drive back to Srinagar where we can take a walk along the banks of the Dal Lake or simply rest in the cosy rooms of our houseboat. Dinner and Overnight in Houseboat.

Day 05: Srinagar – Kargil (Via Sonmarg):- (224 Kms/6 – 7 hour)

Today after breakfast we drive to Leh via Sonmarg also knows as Meadow of Gold, In Sonmarg one can take a pony ride (at additional cost) to Thajiwas Glacier where snow remains round the year. Further we drive towards Kargil enroute crossing Drass Village (2nd Coldest inhabitant in the world) and have a magnificent view of Kargil War famous peaks (Tiger & Tololing) and pay tribute to Vijay Smarak (The War Memorial) located right on Highway at the base of Tololing. After reaching Kargil we check in at our hotel for overnight stay.

Day 06: Kargil – Leh via Lamayuru

Today after breakfast we drive to Sham Valley en-route visiting 11th Century Lamayuru Monastery en-route visiting the mesmerizing Moon Landscapes (you will believe why the name of this area is Moon-land. Exactly the same formations of Land are visible as on the moon), Lamayuru is spectacularly located along the valley plain and surrounded by mountains on all sides. Later we proceed further to Leh en-route stopping at to sight the Confluence of The Indus and Zanskar River just after 4 from Nimmu and further to Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity. It has been noticed that when a vehicle is parked on neutral gear on this metallic road the vehicle slides up and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib Nestled deep in the Himalayas, which was built by the Lamas of Leh in 1517 to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak Dev. Upon arrival in Leh you will meet by our representative and check in at our hotel for overnight stay.

Day 07: Leh Local Sightseeing

Today morning after breakfast, have sightseeing of Shanti-Stupa (Shanti Stupa is situated at a height of 4267 meters overlooking the Leh city, it gives a panoramic view of surrounding snow-capped mountains ), Leh Palace, Stok Palace & Museum (The Leh Palace has nine stories which are in ruins now. Though it has been maintained now, it is uninhabited. The majestic palace overlooks the Namgyal hill and is nestled amidst breath taking locales of the Himalayas.), Spituk Monastery & Kaali Mata Mandir, 3 idiot school. Rest of the evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 08: Leh – Khardung la – Nubra Valley (120 KMS approx)

Today after breakfast drive about 04- 05 hrs. [125 kms] to Nubra – known as valley of flowers. After drive about 02 hrs. we will reach – The world’s highest motorable road called Khardungla high about 18,380 feet above sea level. From the top we can see the most beautiful view of Indus valley & its snow-covered peaks towering the sky and other side of the pass if weather remain clear we can see Karakorum Mountain range and peaks too. We descend down to beautiful valley & transfer to the hotel, later have rest till evening, before sunset we will take you for a short drive to Hunder sand dunes to visit & ride double humped Bactrian camel, later back to hotel for overnight stay. If time permits, we will have a village walk to see local people & its culture.

Day 09: Nubra Valley – Turtuk – Nubra Valley

Today, you’ll travel to the highlight of your Ladakh tour package – Turtuk. Located on the India-Pakistan border, it is a small village on the banks of the Shyok River with unparalleled natural beauty.

The place is culturally, linguistically and historically different from what you’ve seen till now in your Ladakh Tour Package as it falls under the Gilgit-Baltistan region. Even the landscape is different with dramatic narrow valleys and steep mountains, unlike Central Ladakh and Nubra. Comparatively, situated at a lower altitude than Leh, you’ll see green pastures here that yield fresh produce like apricots and apples. Later back to Nubra Valley. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 10: Nubra Valley – Pangong Lake

In the morning after breakfast drive from Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shayok River. Shayok river originates from the Rimo Glacier and its water is so clear that it feels like a mirror. When the sun shines over the river it feels like a carpet of diamonds has been laid down over it. Hence, a visit to the river is something you should not miss out on. After this detour, reach your campsite in Pangong, get settled in and take some rest. In the evening you can spend your leisure time by the lake or exploring the surroundings. At night, have some dinner at the campsite and get ready for a night stay

Day 11: Pangong Lake – Leh

Early morning enjoys the picturesque view of Sun rise on lake. After Breakfast drive back to Leh, Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 12: Departure Transfer

After breakfast, we will drive to the airport for your flight home
